Everyone needs a champion — someone who says “you matter to me.”

Every single day, Patricia Kelly ensures over 300 boys and girls hear this through her Ebony Horsewomen’s Stables and Barn. These kids have seen too much: too much violence, too much despair. But because of Patricia’s dedication and compassion, these young people have a safe place to go.

After schools and on weekends, they learn to ride and to care for horses… to just be kids. Because of CNN Hero Patricia Kelly, they also learn to heal, to discover their own self-worth, and to connect with one another and with horses.
